The really special 45's might get one of these. If there is a particularly interesting original sleeve, as on the older 50's and 60's records, as some are quite colorful, I might include it behind the 45', and then both the polylined sleeve and record, plus the original inner, into this. Here are what I use.And I've had to replace a lot of the old, torn sleeves for new ones.These for the 45's.
Then, with the outers, you have the 7 1/4 x 7 1/4 sleeves for the 45's, 7 1/2 x 7 1/4 sleeves for picture sleeved records, sleeves with flaps that you tape up, sleeves with no flaps, sleeves with resealable flaps, polyethlene sleeves, mylar library sleeves, etc.
There are Mo-Fi sleeves inners and outers. And then there are mylar picture disc sleeves.įor 78's, you have brown kraft paper sleeves, green sleeves, white sleeves, sleeves made of manila-folder type material, and different thicknesses for all of these.2 mil, 3 mil, 4 mil, etc. Some like the rice paper sleeves, and you have the flat edged and rounded edged ones.
That's just for the 45's.You have inners for the LP's, different sizes, etc. Then, you have the inners.Polylined, plain white paper, heavy weight, medium weight, etc., colored paper inners, brown paper inners, old-style green inners, etc. You have Bags Unlimited, Sleeve City, 2Buds, BCW Supplies, Mobile Fidelity, etc. When we talked about it, though, we were marvelling at how many different types there are, and I was wondering.If this is a hard choice for a die-hard audiophile, how confusing must it be for the newbies. Eventually, he found the right sleeves that worked for him, too. I was curious.I had a talk with an audiophile friend of mine a long time ago about the variety of inner and outer sleeves there were on the market.He wanted to protect his records, but there are different mils, different materials, different manufacturers.He clued me in to Bags Unlimited, and I've bought from them ever since.
